Besides being a cultural capital of North India under the Mughal rule, Old Delhi has always been famous for various Mughlai as well as other traditional vegetarian delicacies. The best Nahari and Chaats can only be found in this part of Delhi.

We can have either or both of the cuisines depending upon the group consensus.

For starters our vegetarian counterparts can indulge in delicacies like Dahi Bhalla, Aloo Tikki, Matar Kachori, Matar Samosa and Kulia ki chaat. While our non vegetarian patrons can indulge in Buff/chicken seekh-kebab, buff tikka and butter chicken tikka!

Moving towards main course after a light stroll through Old Delhi, we head to some secret places for a sumptuous meal! Non veggies can indulge in Buff Nahari, Buff/chicken Biryani, Chicken/Mutton Korma and stew. These we will have with traditional breads – khamiri roti and sheermal. And the veggies can indulge in fruit sandwiches and chole bhature!

And finally dessert! A bite of Shahi Tukda, Fruit kulfi, Jalebe, the one and only Karachi Halwa and Sohan Halwa will work its magic on our gastric bag(h)s!

Hope this much will satiate your hunger and love for food. (Includes Sherpa Fee)

Suited for:

Who am I?
Ex-journalist, Law student who loves to explore the myriad hues of my Delhi.

Why me?
Exploring my city, especially heritage, culture and food, has always been my foremost hobby. I have been associated with informal heritage and food groups in the city, with whom I go to such walks every weekend. I have been wandering around the streets of Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazaar for the past many years. The medieval era heritage and a variety of lip-smacking Mughlai and other Indian food items always keep me attached to this place, which I would like to show the people coming to Delhi.
